In the fall of 2007, Sean partnered with a Silver Ridge Elementary co-worker to start a music blog called Topspot USA. What started as a way to spotlight local South Florida talent quickly transformed into a news company, featuring the biggest names in Alternative Rock music. Armed with nothing more than a video camera, microphones and gas money, Sean traveled around South Florida and the country documenting the lives artists, producers and media personalities. During his time with Topspot USA, Sean focused primarily on the marketing, business management, web development and media production, while his partner served as the public face, graphic designer and photographer. Of course, being a team of two required cross training, putting Sean in front of the camera on occasion. His experience with Topspot USA provided a first-hand look behind the scenes in the music industry. They conducted over 300 interviews, where they began diving deep into the struggles that these artists experience. Their approach made them a favorite for a variety of publicists that frequently requested them for coverage at large events, often putting them in the same company of much larger publications.
